Privacy Policy

This privacy policy describes how Tradelane ("we", "our", "the app") collects, uses, and protects information when you, a Shopify merchant, install our app or when your prospective B2B customers submit an application through it.

1. Who we are

Tradelane is a Shopify app operated by an independent developer based in the European Union.

2. What information we collect

Merchant data (the Shopify store owner):

• Your Shopify store domain (e.g. your-store.myshopify.com)
• A scoped Shopify access token, used only to make authorized API calls on your behalf
• App configuration you save in our Settings page (e.g. your chosen B2B catalog ID)

Applicant data (your prospective B2B customers):

• Company name
• Tax ID / VAT number
• Contact email
• Phone number (optional)
• Website (optional)
• Business address (optional)
• Country
• Estimated annual purchase volume (as a range)
• Free-text description of their business (optional)
• The Shopify store domain receiving the application
• Timestamp of submission

We do not collect IP addresses, device fingerprints, payment information, or any tracking cookies.

3. How we use the information

We use this information solely to operate the Tradelane service:

• To display submitted applications to the merchant in the Tradelane admin dashboard.
• To send transactional emails to the applicant (application received, approved, or rejected).
• To create a Shopify Company and Company Location on the merchant's behalf when they approve an application.
• To attach the newly created Company Location to the merchant's selected B2B Market, so wholesale pricing applies at checkout.

We do not use this information for marketing, advertising, sharing or selling to third parties, training machine learning models, or cross-store profiling.

4. How we share information

We share information only as strictly necessary to operate the service:

We do not share data with any other party. We do not use analytics services (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.) inside the app.

5. How we store and secure information

• Data is stored in encrypted databases hosted in the European Union (Ireland).
• All connections to the app are over HTTPS.
• Shopify access tokens are stored encrypted at rest.
• When you uninstall, we delete all related application data within 48 hours.

6. Your rights (and your applicants' rights)

Under the GDPR (EU), the UK GDPR, and similar laws, data subjects have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict processing of, port, and object to processing of their personal data.

Applicants should contact the merchant whose store they applied to — the merchant is the data controller. The merchant can ask us to forward, correct, or delete the data via the standard Shopify GDPR webhook flow, which we handle automatically.

7. GDPR compliance webhooks

Tradelane is fully compliant with Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks:

• customers/data_request: We log any data we hold for the requested customer and forward it to the merchant for delivery to the customer.
• customers/redact: We permanently delete all applications matching the customer's email from our database.
• shop/redact: 48 hours after a merchant uninstalls our app, we permanently delete all data we hold for that shop.

8. Cookies and tracking

The public Tradelane application form does not set any cookies. The Tradelane admin app, embedded inside the Shopify admin, inherits Shopify's own session cookies and adds none of its own.

9. Children

Tradelane is a B2B service for registered businesses. We do not knowingly process data from anyone under 18. If you believe we hold data on a minor, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International data transfers

Our database is in the European Union. If you submit an application from outside the EU, your data is transferred to and stored in the EU. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for any cross-border transfers where applicable.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change. For material changes, we will email installed merchants at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
